Welcome, weary wanderer, to my window into the world wide web.

My name is P.C. Shyamshankar, aka sykora, and this page is about me.

I am a student of Computer Science, currently pursuing my undergraduate degree. Specifically, I’m interested in Cryptography, Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms and Computation Theory, with it’s applications to Compiler Design. Yes, they’re all pretty math-heavy, and that’s good, because I like math too.

I am also a passionate programmer, I maintain several personal projects, contribute to several more, and participate in numerous programming contests and competitions.

I am a Free/Libre Open Source Software (FLOSS) user, but not an advocate. I don’t particularly care what software you use, as long as it doesn’t affect me too much. I am not interested in spending time trying to convince you to come around to my way of thinking. I would not appreciate it if someone else did the same to me, and I try to practice what I preach.

Currently, I use ArchLinux, before which I used Debian (until Squeeze) and Fedora (until 7). I am thankful that I have never used Ubuntu, that experience would have undoubtedly scarred my soul.

I like learning languages, both natural and programming, it’s a pity the former takes much longer.

I have a sizeable presence on the internet, I can be found and be contacted in many ways. The most preferable, of course, is Email, my address being “sykora” at this domain. I can also be found quite often on IRC, with the same handle.

I’m going to stop at this point, and let the rest of my site do the talking, what I write about will usually be a far better indicator of my interests than anything I can put down in one page.

I will however close this section with some eye-candy that I can’t put anywhere else on this site, because I’m too lazy to code a side-bar into it.
